There are no salary differences based on gender or country of origin. Female or foreign medical doctors earn the same as male or German medical doctors. We have collective agreements for hospitals (public, ecclesiastical, private), which are very similar in terms of income. Your salary will depend on your training and your standing in the hierarchy of the hospital team (whether you are chief of division, consultant, specialist, training medical doctor). Every medical doctor has by law 6 weeks vacation. Additional days for continuing education (congresses, and the like) are common. The yearly salary is the sum of 12 monthly salaries.
There is a trade union called ´Marburger Bund´. This union negotiates the monthly salaries of all in-house medical doctors in Germany. There are no differences based on gender, citizenship, or other criteria.
